How an investigation runs

  1. Confidential scoping call We talk through what's been raised, who's involved, and whether an investigation is the right response or a preliminary assessment is needed first.
  2. Terms of reference The allegations, scope, and process are set out in writing before any interviews begin.
  3. Evidence gathering & interviews Structured interviews with the complainant, respondent, and relevant witnesses, along with review of relevant documents and records.
  4. Findings report A written report setting out findings on the balance of probabilities, with reasoning that can withstand challenge.
  5. Recommendations Practical next steps for the organisation, separate from the findings themselves.

Timeframes are agreed upfront based on the scope and complexity of the matter.
